This is an enjoyable holiday read that will appeal to visitors who know France and have stayed there. It is very readable having a simple romantic theme poignant and nostalgic bringing to light some of the picturesque French countryside and its incredible chateaux. It uncovers some dark family secrets and an emotional journey to find the truth. This is a book that is attractive to the more sentimental reader.

The author’s description throughout the book was delightful, you could picture every one of the characters and her love of France as a country shone through, made me want to visit again to see for myself! You walk every footstep with Claire as she discovers the secrets from her mothers past. An enjoyable read with a sweet ending

This is a romantic and emotional story about loves lost and found set across two generations. The detail in the descriptions make it easy to picture the characters and the beauty of the French countryside. The story ends as any good book should in my opinion….by bringing a tear to my eye. Highly recommend this book

A wonderful story of love, heartache and adventure. Set in the beautiful French countryside. The authors knowledge and love of the area along with the believable characters makes this a great read.

Perfect for holidays, cosying up by the fire or snuggled in bed, you won’t want to put it down

There is something in this book that everyone can relate to. When you read it, it’s like being wrapped in a warm blanket. Great storyline set in the idilic French countryside. The art of a great writer is to give the feeling you are there taking part in the plot albeit it as a silent observer.

Cheryl Waters does all that and more, the characters are well scripted. So to sum it up a love story spanning the generations with a happy ending. Well worth a read. Great book.
